Death Valley National Park straddles the border between California and Nevada and, in the summer, is one of the hottest places on earth...
That's why we're going in February.
We should have pleasant temperatures as we cross Death Valley, making stops near the resort at Furnace Creek. We will stop for photo opportunities in the Valley and enjoy the otherworldly vista at Dante’s view.
After visiting Death Valley, we will point our bikes towards Beatty, NV and the Goldwell Open Air Museum. This free museum features sculptures and other displays. Bring your cameras as photo ops are abundant.
Dinner Saturday night can be at your leisure, but I’m sure many from the group will find a good place to eat together.
Sunday morning we can sleep-in a bit ( probably ksu 8am)and rest up for the ride home. Plan to be back at Lifestyle Cycles by 5pm if not a little before.
Skill Level: Intermediate (Easy travel on Interstate and desert highways but higher mileage may limit who will want to make this ride.)
There is no truck or chase vehicle following us... you’ll need to pack everything you need on your bike.
Mileage: approximately 650 miles R/T.
Fuel & Rest Stops: Approximately every 100 miles. (Fuel is available inside Death Valley National Park)
For your safety and that of the group, we require that you show up with a DOT approved helmet, full tank of gas and tires in good repair.
